Itinerary

 

FIRST DAY: CUSCO –  URUBAMBA- VALLE DE PUMAHUANCA – P’ACCHAYOC – CUYOC

The pick-up  time from the hotel in Cusco will be at 04:30 hours and then we will go by our bus from Cusco city to Urubamba town. Where we will have breakfast, then we will continue by bus to Pumahuanca valley, where our hundler will wait us with their horses, who will carry on the load to start the adventure. Our guide will give us the introduction of the path and then start the ascent to P’acchayoc place, where our team staff will be waiting us with hot tea and tasty lunch. Then we will walk uphill, through lush green valleys until we will arrive the Cuyoc campsite.

 

SECOND DAY: CUYOC – PUMAHUANCA PASS – CUNCANI TOWN – LARES THERMAL BATHS

We will wake up our team staff with hot drinks, then we will have breakfast and we will receive previous indications from our guide to continue the adventure in the microclimate of Pumahuanca mountain, a majestic scenery where we can observe a biodiversity by walking several altitudinal floors from the vegetation of valley; middle and high mountain floor until arriving to Pumahuanca Pass (4780 mts / 15682.41 ft); from here we will walk downhill through on serene mountain lakes until we reach the town of Cuncani, here we will have lunch and then our guide will teach us about the local people and their way of life. We will continue the adventure to the campsite of thermal baths of Lares. The temperature of the thermal pools fluctuates between 36 ° C and 44 ° C and the pools have dimensions between 17 m2 and 120 m2, with depths that do not exceed one and a half meters; before dinner a relaxing bath.

 

THIRD DAY: LARES THERMAL BATHS – OLLANTAYTAMBO – MACHU PICCHU (AGUAS CALIENTES)

We will wake up calmly to have breakfast and we will say goodbye to our team staff and then receive instructions of our guide to continue the tour approximately 4 hours by our bus to Ollantaytambo town, where we will board the train that will take us through by 2 hours to Aguas Calientes town, here is our overnight in hotel; our guide will organize you to the tour in the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu.

 

FOURTH DAY: MACHU PICCHU (AGUAS CALIENTES) – OLLANTAYTAMBO – CUSCO.

We will wake up at 04:00 hours to take the first bus to the Archaeological Complex of Machu Picchu, which opens the control at 06:00 hours then we will have a guided tour by 3 hours through on the site, during which we will learn about the Inca culture and we will visit all the important areas of the citadel. After your tour you will have free time to explore the site and if you have entrance fee to climb either Huayna Picchu montain (2 hours round trip) or Machu Picchu mountain (3 hours round trip), then return to Aguas Calientes city. In the afternoon, we will board the train come back to Ollantaytambo (2 hours) from where we will continue come back by our bus to Cusco (2 hours).

Group tour is done with different Trekkers. This means that it is open for others to join you.
