Itinerary

FIRST DAY: CUSCO – URCOS – PITUMARCA – QUESIYUNO – KAYRAWIRE

The pick up time from the hotel in Cusco will be at 05:00 hours and then we will go by bus in 5 hours to Pitumarca town (3750 mts / 12303.15 ft). Where we will have breakfast, then we will continue by bus to Quesiuno place (4200 mts / 13779.53 ft), where our handler will wait us with their horses, who will carry the load to start the adventure. Our guide will give us the introduction of the path and then begin the ascent to Kayrawire campsite (4600 mts / 15091.86 ft), here our team staff will be waiting us with hot tea and tasty lunch, here our first camping; the temperature oscillates to zero degrees, cold night of hiking.

 

SECOND DAY: KAYRAWIRE – MONTAÑA VINICUNCA (RAINBOW OR SEVEN COLORS), -WARMISAYA PASS – ANANTAPAMPA – AUSANGATE COCHA

Our team staff will wake us up with hot drinks, then we will have breakfast and we will receive previous instructions of our guide to continue the adventure in the climate of the rainbow mountain known like Vinicunca (seven colors), a majestic scenery with multicolored tones are due to the different minerals that it covers in mountain layers. There our guide will inform us more about the Inca mythology of this mountain and the nearby lakes, the masculine energy that fertilizes Mother Earth (Pachamama) is born; and take all those beautiful images and then continue the adventure to the pass of Warmisaya (4960 mts / 16272.97 ft), from here we will descend to the Anantapampa Andean creek, and then ascend to Ausangatecocha (Ausangate lagoon), where we will have lunch. There we will spend the night camping.

 

THIRD DAY: AUSANGATE COCHA – CCOMERCOCHA – PUCACOCHA – YANACOCHA –  ARAPA PASS– PUEBLO UPIS

After a breakfast we will receive previous indications from our guide to continue the path to the Ausangate Pass (4850 mts / 15912.07 ft), from there we will continue descending thought on the beautiful Andean lagoons of Ccomercocha, Pukacocha and Sonccococha. On the way we will appreciate all the beauty of geography in this part of the Andean south. When we reach the Arapa pass we will have a short break, and then we will descend to the lunch place and Upis Camping site (4400 mts / 14435.70 ft), here before dinner we will have a relaxing bath in the thermal baths.

 

FOURTH DAY: UPIS – TINQUI – CUSCO

After a breakfast we will have a small ceremony to say goodbye to our team staff, then we will receive instructions of our guide to continue the adventure approximately 2 hours to the Andean school in Upis village, where the children learn in Quechua, if they wish to visit , you can do it, you have the opportunity to give them the gifts that you have for the children. From here we will pick up our bus, in the course we will have our lunch; Then we will continue to come back to Cusco city.

GROUP TOUR:

Group tour is done with different Trekkers. This means that it is open for others to join you.

They are available and have a price per group size.

  • 2 – 3 Trekkers: $ 650 USD per person.
  • 4 – 6 Trekkers: $ 600 USD per person.
  • 7 – 8 Trekkers: $ 560 USD per person.
