Itinerary

FIRST DAY: CUSCO – TAMBOMACHAY – HUCHUY QOSQO

The pick-up time from the hotel will be at 06:30 hours, we will go by bus in 30 minutes to the archaeological center of Tambomachay (3800 mts / 12467.19 ft) here we will appreciate the ceremonial water fountains and then we will start the trek, from here we will ascend by 2 hours to through landscapes of puna towards Sicllaccasa pass (4020 mts / 13188.98 ft). Then we will go to Queullacocha  pass (4185mts / 13730.31 ft). From here we have spectacular views of the mountains Veronica, Pitusiray, Chicon and San Juan, continuing the tour Qoricocha Lake, then we will climb to Challu Challu pass (4220 mts / 13845.14 ft), then ascend to the fourth step in Rumicruz (4230 mts / 13877.95 ft) After lunch we will descend by 1 hour to Pucamarca town (3600 mts / 11811.02 ft) and pumapunku, we will continue descending to Huchuy Qosqo. There we will camp the night.

 

SECOND DAY: HUCHUY QOSQO – OLLANTAYTAMBO – MACHUPICCHU

After a breakfast we will visit the archaeological complex of Huchuy Qosqo (abode of the Inca Wiracocha) with imposing architecture and ceremonial center, where we will enjoy a panoramic view of the Sacred Valley, the Vilcanota River and the mountains of the Urubamba mountain range. By 3 hours until Lamay (3000 mts / 9842.52 ft) here we will have lunch, then continue by bus to Ollantaytambo and then we will board the train to Aguas Calientes, where will be our overnigth in hotel.

 

THIRD DAY: MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO

We will wake up at 04:00 hours to take the first bus to the Archaeological Complex of Machu Picchu, the control opens at 06:00 hours then we will have a guided tour by 3 hours through on the site, during which we will learn about the Inca culture and we will visit all the important areas of the citadel. After your tour we will have free time to explore around the site and if you have entry to climb either Huayna Picchu mountain  (2 hours round trip) or Machu Picchu mountain (3 hours round trip), then return to Aguas Calientes city. In the afternoon, we will board the train come back to Ollantaytambo (2 hours) from where we will continue come back  by our bus to Cusco (2:00 hours).

Group tour is done with different Trekkers. This means that it is open for others to join you.

They are available and have a price per group size.

  • 2 – 3 Trekkers: $ 500 USD per person.
  • 4 – 6 Trekkers: $ 490 USD per person.
  • 7 – 8 Trekkers: $ 485 USD per person.
