Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Capuliyoc – La Playa
The pick-up time from the hotel will be at 04:00 hours, we will go by bus to Capuliyoc place (3200 mts / 10498.69 ft), where our handler will wait us with their horses, who will carry on the load to start the adventure of the path. After breakfast our guide will give us the introduction of the path and then begin the adventure by three hours approximately downhill with spectacular views of the Apurimac River, landscapes and beautiful flora and fauna until you reach the lunch point. We will continue the adventure until we reach our camp, where we will spend the first night; which is at the bottom of the La Playa valley (1800 mts / 5905.51 ft).
Day 2: La Playa – Marampata – Choquequirao
Our team staff will wake us up with hot drinks, then we will have breakfast and we will receive previous instructions from our guide to continue the adventure of the day, passing through some sugarcane plantations, we will see the valley with beautiful flora and fauna from the opposite hill. This part of the way is one of the most challenging parts of the tour. Once we get to Marampata, we will have lunch. Then we will continue the last section to Choquequirao. This will be the most impressive section of the entire trail because we will have incredible views from the summit to the Apurimac canyon. Here we will camp just at the foot of the site of Inca.
Day 3: Exploring to Choquequirao
After a breakfast, we will get ready to go by 30 minutes to the archaeological complex of Choquequirao. Once there, we will receive a guided tour of approximately 4 hours to visit plazas, enclosures, large walls with niches, water channels and other constructions, then we will return to the camp for lunch, and then continue exploring the site with our guide, we will know the areas incredible sites, such as the llama area, narrow cultivation terraces and others. Next we return to the camp.
Day 4: Choquequirao – Marampata – La Playa – Chikiska
After a breakfast, we will prepare for our adventure come back to Cusco. We will drive for two hours until arrive to Marampata. There we can enjoy the incredible landscapes of the Andes. Then we will continue by four hour hike, steep and downhill to La Playa, where we will have lunch. Next, we will spend another two hours, uphill to the Chikiska camping site, you can also see some black bears, condors, hummingbirds and others.
Day 5: Chikiska – Capuliyoc – Cusco
After a breakfast, we will prepare for the return to Cusco. It will be a four hour hike uphill to arrave the final point, where we will enjoy our last lunch, then we will have a small ceremony to say goodbye to our team staff and then continue to Cusco, about three hours by bus. We will through Curahuasi, and arrive to Cusco around 06:00 hours.

GROUP TOUR:

Group tour is done with different Trekkers. This means that it is open for others to join you.

They are available and have a price per group size.
