Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Lares – Huacawasi Town
The pick-up time from the hotel will be at 05:30 hours then we will go by bus to Lares town (3100 mts / 10170.60 ft), where we will enjoy the Lares thermal baths, after lunch we will start with the adventure to our first camping in Huacawasi town (3,900 mts / 12795.28 ft) about 04 hours, in the course we will appreciate natural landscapes and some small towns where we will have the opportunity to know more about their living culture and authenticity. Upon arrival at our camping, we will have dinner and then the opportunity to learn a little more about the ancestral knowledge related to Inca astronomy.
Day 2: Huacawasi – Pata Cancha Town
After a breakfast, we will start with the adventure that will be approximately 08 hours, of which the first three hours will be of continuous ascent, until arraving the highest point of the hiking that will be the Ipsaycocha pass (4490 mts / 14730.97 ft), where We will have the opportunity to see alpacas, llamas, wild rabbit (vizcacha) and if we are lucky we can see the Andean condor, which regularly go through that place. Once arrived the highest point, our guide will explain us about the area and importance of the mountains within the Inca religion.
Then we will descend until we arrive the Ipsaycocha lagoon where we will have lunch and an appropriate rest, and then continue with the descent to the second camping that will be in Pata Cancha town, where we will have the option of visiting the house of one of the families that live there. to be able to know about their lifestyle, after that we will have dinner and an informative talk from our guide for the tour the next day.
Day 3: Patacancha Town – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes
After a breakfast, we will continue with the descent through Willoc and Pumamarca, two towns well known for their texteleria and colorful clothing that come from the time of their ancestors, until arriving to Ollantaytambo town, located in the sacred valley of the Incas, where we will have lunch and rest time; then receive a briefing of our guide about this town very famous for maintaining many buildings since the Incas time, and later we will board the train that will take us by 2 hours to Aguas Calientes town, here our overnight in hotel; tonight our guide will organize everything for tour in the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu.
Day 4: Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes) – Ollantaytambo – Cusco
We will wake up at 04:00 hours to take the first bus to the Archaeological Complex of Machu Picchu, which opens the control at 06:00 hours then we will have a guided tour about 3 hours through go the site, there we will learn about the Inca culture and we will visit all the important areas of the citadel. After your tour you will have free time to explore in the site and if you have entry fee to climb either Huayna Picchu mountain (2 hours round trip) or mountain Machu Picchu mountain (3 hours round trip), then return to Aguas Calientes Town. In the afternoon, we will board the train come back to Ollantaytambo (2 hours) from where we will continue back by our bus to Cusco (2 hours).
